Breaking Bread - Poetic City Visual Arts
Breaking Bread is the sixth annual collaborative exhibit hosted by Poetic City Visual Arts, a creative collective of Black artists. Each show featured artwork that is created following a specific theme. This year’s theme, Breaking Bread, follows the theme of serving and sharing meals between loved ones. Artwork has been created by Betty Refour, Erica Nkechi, Rico Young, Rochelle Cole, Tiffany Nicole and curator/artist, Sunee Rice. According to Rice, the exhibit is intended to show that “gathering around food offers a chance to tell stories, mediate conflicts and feel seen.” This powerful group of artists represents over a century of artistic experience. It is also the gallery debut of artist Rochelle Cole, Rice’s talented quilter and mother.

Marks & Musings - Aztrid Moan, David Hertzel & Todd E. Clark
Marks and Musings is the exhibit of David Hertzel, Aztrid Moan and Todd E. Clark. Infusing their art with the vibrant spirit of Oklahoma City, each artist has created compelling works that celebrate the raw beauty of human experience and our connection to the world around us. Hertzel’s striking lino-cuts and textured sculptures embrace imperfection, while Moan’s layered prints and mixed-media pieces incorporate natural materials to tell powerful visual stories. Todd’s colorful depictions of cowboy kitties and rodeo clowns evoke memory and emotion in a way that feels both safe and lively. Together, their exhibition encourages viewers to slow down, look closely and rediscover the charm of authentic, handcrafted and playful imagery.

Main Street: Carnival Found - SJ Barrymore
Main Street: Carnival Found is a photography exhibit by SJ Barrymore. Barrymore began his journey with film photography on the streets of San Francisco with a roll of black and white film loaded. Film photography is a significant influence in his compositional framing and lighting, He later pursued art courses, further refining his skills in a self-taught manner. In Main Street: Carnival Found, Barrymore captured shots of a carnival that was preparing to open. Each photograph emphasizes the stillness of the empty carnival and the anticipation of the soon-to-be-busy event.
