ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
VC Torneden is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans photography, painting, drawing, and printmaking. Her art is characterized by a blend of surrealism and documentary elements, with her paintings and printmaking often leaning toward the sparse and surreal, while her photography, influenced by her background in street photography and photojournalism, offers a more grounded perspective, a strong dose of social commentary, and the occasional touch of sardonic wit. Her background includes education at the University of New Orleans and Memphis College of Art as well as work experience in painting, illustration, advertising design, and journalism. Her work has been featured in various publications, exhibited nationwide, and is held in multiple private and corporate collections across the country.
