Who and Where We Are is a photography exhibition featuring the work of mother and daughter Joi Bachiochi and Amber Bachiochi Thompson. The exhibition highlights themes of identity, responses to grief and everyday life in rural Oklahoma and spans over 30 years. Joi’s photos from before Amber’s birth, Amber’s self-portraits and photos that the two took alongside each other at different periods present a generational conversation with subjects, memories, and even compositions echoing across decades. Ultimately, Who and Where We Are offers something not only narratively circular but, especially in regards to the women’s relationship to one another, the possibility of something new.
On display Feb. 6-28. An opening reception will be held on Feb. 6 from 6-9pm, during First Friday Gallery Walk.
