Symbiotic Stripes Fiber artists Agnes Stadler and Elizabeth Richards created this series of art quilts as an experiment with color, scale, and pattern.  Their chosen motif, “Stripes”, opens possibilities for interpretation. Unique selections, including hand-dyed and repurposed fabrics, machine and hand stitching, as well as a mixture of traditional and original designs, result in bold, structured, and expressive compositions. The pieces become a dialogue between the artists, reflecting shared ideas, as well as individual creative voices. This exhibit invites the viewers to immerse themselves in the world of art quilts, while enjoying a whirlwind of colorful expression and graphic appeal. Agnes Stadler and Elizabeth Ladd transport guests into the world of textiles filled with color and conversation between their quilts and one another. These large-scale works fill the walls and transform the space into a quilter’s dreamscape.

About Agnes Stadler: Agnes was born in Budapest, Hungary, and grew up in Havana, Cuba. She moved to the United States almost 30 years ago, and after living in Michigan for four years, she now makes her home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Agnes found her creative calling later in life, after a successful career in conference translation and interpreting in Europe. Greatly influenced by the abstract minimalism of Amish quilts, she first took up traditional, then modern quilting in the early 2000s. A number of workshops with renowned art quilters, such as Betty Busby, Luke Haynes, Kim Eichler-Messmer, etc., gradually guided her into the path of art quilting. While still making utilitarian modern quilts, Agnes now spends her creative time exploring the many sub-genres of the textile arts.

About Elizabeth Richards: Elizabeth Richards is a self-taught textile artist living in Oklahoma City, OK. She enjoys the process of dyeing, printing, and painting on fabric, including repurposed fabrics. Hand stitching is often seen in her work along with occasional mixed media from found objects. Her works have been shown internationally in Australia and France and nationally in galleries across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. Elizabeth shares a fiber studio at ARTSPACE At Untitled with friends and is involved with the Mentorship Program at ARTSPACE, teaching and sharing what she has learned in her lifetime of curiosity and play with fabric and stitch.

Paseo PhotoFest is a juried photography exhibition that takes place each September in the Paseo Arts & Creativity Center. It is open to all types of photography, including traditional and digital processes and mixed media work that features photography. Juried by Michael Hulett - Hulett is the founder and director of The Hulett Collection, a fine art photography gallery in Tulsa, OK, specializing in museum-quality twentieth-century and contemporary photography. A Tulsa native, Hulett began his career in the fine art photography world in Los Angeles, where he spent more than a decade at the internationally respected Peter Fetterman Gallery in Santa Monica, ultimately serving as Director. During his tenure, he curated more than one hundred exhibitions and participated in major art fairs and projects across Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and San Francisco, working with many of photography's most celebrated artists and estates. Drawing on more than twenty years of experience in the field, Hulett founded The Hulett Collection to bring world-class photography to Oklahoma while fostering a deeper appreciation for the medium through thoughtfully curated exhibitions, educational programming, and personal relationships with collectors.

Carrie McGee Daley is an artist from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, whose work showcases precise, modern pointillism. Inspired by traditional quilting and geometric designs, she uses acrylic paint and specialized tools to create intricate compositions of carefully placed dots. Contrasting yet complementary colors bring depth, movement, symmetry, and balance to each piece. Her work is a practice in slowing down, finding calm, and being present in the moment. Recurring geometric patterns unite the collection into a cohesive exhibition. Through rhythm, repetition, and balance, Rhythm of Patterns celebrates harmony, mindfulness, and the beauty found in everyday designs. Carrie McGee Daley’s intimate paintings create a quiet moment for viewers who are left longing, curious about the precision and movement within this body of work.
