“Beautifully Toxic, is an isolated detail of a huge toxic chat pile over 60 feet tall. Located at the Superfund site in Picher, OK. I want to create images, in this series, that can be viewed as beautiful, despite a toxic environment. To juxtapose the two ideas to bring attention back to local environmental issues. Climate change and environmental destruction aren't happening only in far-off places. It's happening right here, in our backyards, and has been happening for generations, such as in Picher, OK.”
