Folklore and myths reflect the values and ideologies of the cultures they represent. By preserving and maintaining these stories throughout history, the belief systems inherent in these fables are continuously perpetuated in society. In patriarchal cultures, women are often portrayed in ways that sustain oppressive gendered relationships. Through a series of reductive relief prints, I critically examine and reinterpret the roles of women in folklore, myth, and religion, offering a contemporary feminist perspective that reclaims power from patriarchal representations.
